Ran: Ganil and Bail Powder Guide

Ganil and Bail Powder are new items to Ran Online. They can be used after some crafting to upgrade armor and weapons. Since there is very sparse information, I will put all I know here about this system.
Bail Powder: Collect five of these to create an Armor refine item.
Ganil Powder: Collect five of these to create a Weapon refine item.

The ingredients are as follows:
5pcs of Ganil powder + 1pcs Retinum + 1pcs Hardening agent = 1 Ganil Piece
5pcs of Bail powder + 1pcs Retinum + 1pcs Hardening agent = 1 Bail Piece

The retinum and hardening agent can be obtained from an npc in the back of the marketplace by the name of Sun-A (Now Monisha). It will come to a total of 150k gold. Just trade the NPC again and she will make the item for you!

Bail and Ganil work the same way that regular refine items do except you can use them to upgrade anywhere from +1 to +10. Fine burrs and Luxury Protection Potions only work up to +9.

Other tips:
Burr: improves weapon power to a maximum of +4
Fine Burr: improves weapon power to a maximum of +9
Protection Potion: improves defense to a maximum of +4
Luxury Protection Potion:
increases Defense to a maximum of +9
(Opulent) Bone Powder: endows Wind Resistance to a maximum of +4 (+9)
(Fine) Iron: endows Fire Resistance to a maximum of +4 (+9)
(Fine) Crystal: endows Fire Resistance to a maximum of +4 (+9)(Fine) Sodium: endows Electric Resistance to a maximum of +4 (+9)
(Fine) Silver: endows Poison Resistance to a maximum of +4 (+9)

Refining any item beyond +4 might result in it disappearing, reverting or failing.

Ran Online Review @ Ran-World.com

Now I know Ran Online is an old game but there's a reason why its been around for so long! Out of all the games I've played, this is easily the best game for huge-scale pvp and in general, PK. In fact, the game promotes PK as a way of settling things.

The story of Ran Online begins with Three schools. They are Sacred Gate, Mystic Peak and Phoenix. As a player, you get to choose to start in any of the three. There aren't really any significant differences except early stage equipments and environment. I choose SG because I like how their campus looks the most.
The game has 4 typical classes: Swordsman, Brawler, Shaman, and Archer. Min Communications has announced that a new class will be implemented when fully developed. Each of the classes have their strengths and weaknesses and might be better suited for either partying or pvp.

Nicotto Coin Tips

For all the english speakers that are playing nicotto, here are some tips to earn coins for the game.
First of all, there are the minigames you can play.
The slot game is the best for making money. You can open it and leave it running to earn up to 250 a day. It is automatic and each session will earn you 50 gold. Though the max amount you can earn is 200, you can cheat the system by earning only 199 on the 4th game and that will allow you to run slots once more.
The other minigames take more time to play and are not as easy.

The other ways are:
- Logging in gives you 50 coins a day
- Dressup and saving will earn you 10 coins a day
- Writing a blog will earn you 100 coins a day
- Visiting the 4 animals in nicotto town will make you 40 coins. 10x4 = 40.
(The animals are the ones who appear on the map. You can go to the Game Plaza (Panda), Medal Plaza (Cat), Chat Plaza(Dachshund), and Beginner's Plaza (Bear). Answer Yes to all the animals but the Cat.)
- When other people push your pink button in your profile or in town, you get 2 coins.
- Blog comments give 1 coin each.

That's it for now~

TinierMe: New Virtual World

"TinierMe is an anime/manga inspired virtual world where your personal dynamic avatar can dress up, chat, blog, explore, and play free online games!
TinierMe is scheduled for release in October of 2009!" Facebook

So apparently, the japanese are tapping into facebook applications. This new application looks very familiar to me for some reason. Actually, I'm pretty excited because I love virtual worlds + anime-styled avatars like this and it looks sooo cute. From some of the screenshots, there are likely to be pet and housing systems.
Just found out from my friends at nicotto.jp that the official japanese version is located at www.atgames.jp. I can also refer you to that although it is quite hard to earn coins..

VanillaCat: Korean Avatar Game

I've been looking for a lot of new avatar communities lately. Some that have stood out are poupee girl, nicotto, pigg, and daletto. They are all japanese sites (poupee has some english content). Vanillacat is Korean and a lot harder to access because of the KSSN requirement. However, the thai version's beta seems to be approaching so I will try that when it gets released. The avatars are so pretty! There are also mini-games and ingame shops. The name is so strange though.
The site is here: http://vanillacat.playpark.com/

My Ragnarok Online Sprites

These are some old spriting projects of mine for Ragnarok Online. I don't really play anymore but its nice to see some private servers using them. =]
I've changed the savefile links to box ones so the veil and hat are both up again.

Twin Bunnies: Final Release =]
(I fixed the drop sprite so re-download if necessary.)

{click here to download}

Luxury Hat: Released 5/31/06

{click here to download}

Ceremonial Veil: Released 7/7/08

{Click here to download}
I didnt like the usual wedding veil so i made something of my own. You can just replace the old veil or put this in as a whole new item ^^

These hairstyles are just something I've been working on but have never done before. So its kind of an experiment.

New: Bacsojin Hair

Second View is ripped from bacsojin sprite.

New: Chii (Chobits) Hair
I spent a while trying to plan out the back of her hair and looking up pics only with disappointment. Anyway..I tried to her hairstyle work with being short and it looks a little weird...

Please give me feedback. It'd be greatly appreciated. :D

Pet Society Tips & Tricks for Hurdles

Here are some tips and tricks for Pet Society's Hurdles game at the stadium. You may know these already though. Nothing new. ^__^

(1)- Make sure that your health and happiness is at maximum. They will run their fastest!
(2)- When you are preparing to start the race, look at the pet that's holding the flag. When his eyebrows straighten, that's when the screen is going to flash GO!
(3)- For Hurdles, on the speed pad, click when the color is green for the most speed boost.
(4)- When you are in the water after a jump, jump again to get out of the water faster. Don't do this though if there is another hurdle close ahead.
(5)- Click on the bananas on your path for a chance to get coins instead of jumping.

Grand Chase Costumes

Found a really nice blog today with costume images of Grand Chase characters. It's in spanish though and hasn't been updated in a while. http://gcns2.blogspot.com/

Pet Society - Gardening Info, Trees/Flowers/Veggies

I pulled up my sweetheart root today on its 3rd day of growth. It was a [below average] sized vegetable that sold for 165 gold! I was actually pretty happy because it didn't rot. The sizes (and prices for regular veggies) are:
1. Tiny 104 gold
2. Very Small 121 gold

3. Small
140 gold
4. Below Average 165 gold

5. Average 182 gold
6. Above Average 201 gold

7. Large 241 gold

8. Very Large 265 gold

9. Gigantic 291 gold

I've been growing a couple of flowers since coming back and most of them sell for 208 gold which gives me 8 gold profit. One of them the [Luscious Lips] flower sells for 230 gold which gives 30 gold profit! I wish there were more flowers that sold for 230 instead of 208. 8 gold isn't a lot...

I have a total of 4 grown trees. Half are cupcake and half are banana trees. I was really happy at first but then disappointed when I was only able to harvest 1 banana. It seems that a lot of people are also having this problem with sterile trees. It's also sad that trees cannot be moved so don't try because you might removed them instead.

The banana and coconut trees look more like grass when they're babies.
The apple, cupcake, and orange trees look more like mini-trees when young.

Pet Society Gardens - New!

I played Pet Society on facebook for a bit in the past but stopped due to the lack of content ingame. It was especially hard to earn money and I got tired of running stadium races for a measly 30 gold each.
Recently, they released a new Garden feature that allows you go to grow plants. Doing some research, I found out that trees, vegetables and flowers could be planted. Trees, however were the most appealing choice because of their ability to regrow fruits! It reminded me of Harvest Moon so on my first day back, I bought 3 seeds and planted them. It would take another 3 days for them to mature into trees. This was an opportunity to have a constant decent source of income or so I thought.

Sources of Income:
Stadium Races x 10 = 300 gold
Daily Lottery = (50, 100, 500, 1000)
Visits = 20 gold x friend (up to a limit)

The official blog has this information for the three types of plants:
Flower seeds
Flower seeds take about 24 hours to grow into all kinds of colorful flowers. These can be pulled up from the ground and used to decorate your house (they look great in a vase), given to your friends as a exclusive gift which they won’t find in the shops, or just sold to earn you some coins.

Tree seeds
Tree seeds take 72 hours to grow. Once a tree is fully grown it will start to bear fruit, so it’s worth checking back daily to see what it’s produced. You can give fruit to your pet, send it as a gift to your friends, or sell it on for a steady coin income. The fruit which the tree bears depends on what type of tree it is. You could even create an orchard in your garden!

Vegetable seeds
Vegetables grow larger and larger the longer you leave them in the ground, although after 9 days the vegetable won’t grow any more. The larger a vegetable is the more valuable it is, but leaving them to grow for too long can be risky because the longer you wait the greater the chance you might find the vegetable has rotted away by the time you pull it up!

With flower seeds, you can ensure a pretty constant source of income but only 8 gold will be profitted (30 gold with the rare types).

I'll have some screenshots up soon of my garden!

Now playing....Grand Chase

So I got into this game a while ago when I was still in school but was discouraged by the grind and the lack of a community. When summer came, I decided to give it another try. Turns out that things have gotten better mostly due to the addition of a new character -- Jin.
