MMO thoughts

There are many reasons why mmo-gamers take a brief hiatus in their gaming activities. As for me, it happens after every major game I play. First it was after Hoverboard ASDF, then RO, then Ran Online, and so on. The experience is similar in all cases. After ending a well-enjoyed game, you naturally begin to notice other "outside" things: Hang out with your friends some...go visit some places, catch up on schoolwork, etc. But it always comes to the realization that you have so much free time. You being your search again for a new game to spend it.

Once an MMO player, always a MMO player. It has become a natural desire in my life to sit at the computer for hours interacting in a virtual world. The search for a new MMO is even more arduous nowadays with all the new games coming out. I really wonder, have I stopped this time for real?

We stop playing a game for many reasons. Sometimes the economy has fallen to the depths of hell or bots have taken over. It could also be the lack of content as well as the administration's blind eye to everything corrupt. I believe though, that the biggest factor is the community. There are many games that I have loved but without the proper support of friends, the gameplay becomes bland. You begin to long for the past. As mmo players, we all know that reminiscing is futile. We all know the time stops for no one; especially not in an online game.

People can be really cruel in an online environment. Friends are made on the basis of usefulness. Personalities are created on the fact that your real identity is not exposed. Harsh words can be played sometimes without realizing that we can all be hurt. Everyone says, "It's just a game." but we all know better.
