The story of Ran Online begins with Three schools. They are Sacred Gate, Mystic Peak and Phoenix. As a player, you get to choose to start in any of the three. There aren't really any significant differences except early stage equipments and environment. I choose SG because I like how their campus looks the most.
The game has 4 typical classes: Swordsman, Brawler, Shaman, and Archer. Min Communications has announced that a new class will be implemented when fully developed. Each of the classes have their strengths and weaknesses and might be better suited for either partying or pvp.

This game does not have a class-change system. The type you choose at creation is the one you will stay with. Every 7 levels or so, you may gain new skills or buffs. You also get 3 stat points to add every level.
A word of warning for lone wolves though, this is mainly a partying game that is meant to be played with other people. It is very hard to solo and get decent people. Now here's where the great party system comes in. A functional party consists of one healer or more, pullers(lurers), and damage dealers. Dex type chars will excel at the luring task while pow and int types are meant more for clearing mobs. Lurers sometimes pull a total of around 30 mobs to the leveling spot and everyone helps clear (except the healer).
There is also an interesting feature in this game known as PK time. During this time, all students of different schools are free to pk each other without penalty. Players use this opportunity to settle disputes or to steal valuable leveling spots.
So what else might you expect from a game such as this?
- A diversified skill and dueling system.
- Hoverboards, pets, etc.
- A tightly knit community due to long hours of partying and defending against pkers.
